Every year, PEOPLECERT organizes a Seminar Tour of a large number of cities throughout Greece, aiming to inform and train professionals in the EFL field.
As part of the 2010 Seminar Tour, in view of the new academic year, the Language Certification Department has scheduled highly engaging seminars for the next City & Guilds Seminar Programme for teachers. Starting on February 6, it has scheduled to visit the following cities, aiming to inform and train increasingly more EFL professionals throughout Greece.

Topic: The City & Guilds Exams: Test Tasks and Student Performance
Presenter: George Lampropoulos
This presentation looks at the task types used in the IESOL and ISESOL exams as well as the performance of the thousands of Greek candidates that have taken the exams so far. The requirements of each task will be analysed, the candidates’ performance will be discussed and tips will be given for more effective preparation of students at all levels.

Topic: Developing and Assessing Speaking
Presenter: George Vassilakis
This presentation looks at the assessment criteria and requirements of various spoken exams at levels B2 and above and attempts to describe the kind of abilities that students need in order to succeed. Using examples from City & Guilds Spoken ESOL tests, we will demonstrate how different speaking activities in the classroom can help students develop different aspects of the speaking skill that will result in effective and efficient oral communication as well as success in oral exams.
